Lulu to turn Great Scotland Yard into five-star hotel

Malayali billionaire M A Yusuffali-owned Lulu Group International has signed a Rs 1,100-crore (110 million-pound) deal with Galliard Homes to turn the iconic London building that once housed the headquarters of Scotland Yard into a five-star hotel Stock Market Trading Tips

The Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group is planning to convert the Edwardian building into a 92,000 sq ft hotel, to be known as the Great Scotland Yard, by early 2017.

This is Yusuffali's second investment in London. Last year, he had picked up a minority shareholding in the East India Company.

Galliard Homes got the iconic building from the 'Met' in 2013 on a 125-year lease. It was the home of the 'Met' from 1829 to 1890. Later, the Met moved the headquarters to another location named 'New Scotland Yard'. The Great Scotland Yard building was refurbished in 1910 and served as the British Army Recruitment Office and Royal Military Police headquarters. It also housed the Ministry of Defence Library until 2004 Himanshu Tiwari Astrologer

Great Scotland Yard Hotel will have a mix of luxury bedrooms, restaurants, library, lobby, private meeting and entertaining rooms and dining rooms. An adjoining Grade-2 Listed Victorian townhouse will be incorporated to be used as an entertaining suite. With two basement floors being added, it will be seven-storey building.

Nearly 30% of the refurbishment work of the building has been completed, with the interior fit-out scheduled to start in March 2016. When completed, the hotel will give employment to up to 250 full-time staff Financial Astrology

"We have been actively evaluating investment opportunities that both grow our footprint and contribute to the further development of London and our interest in the 'Great Scotland Yard' is a step in that direction," said Adeeb Ahamed, son-in-law of Yusuffali and the managing director of Twenty14 Holdings, the new hospitality arm of Lulu Group.

Twenty14 Holdings holds assets worth over 1 billion dirhams in the Middle East, the UK and India. Recently, the company acquired a property at Business Bay in Dubai, which is expected open in October. The firm jointly owns the Sheraton Oman Hotel in Muscat with Al Hashar Hotels LLC.

Private investors from Qatar and Kuwait were also in the race for the Great Scotland Yard building Indian stock market astrology prediction
