TN investor friendly: US ambassador

US ambassador to India Richard Verma on Tuesday said that the climate for investment in Tamil Nadu has been positive as many American companies have opened up their purse in the state.

Speaking on the second day of his two-day visit to Chennai, he said, "There are hundreds of US companies here that employ thousands of workers and there is quite a strong set of commercial connections in the state." He mentioned that many states in the country were competing to show that it is a safe place for investment Stock Market Trading Tips

"My experience in southern India, particularly Tamil Nadu, shows that investment is wanted here. Once we have a conversation we can get a lot of things done," he said. He also mentioned that if there are disputes between governments, it could always be resolved through dialogue. We are trying to ensure that there is a sense of confidence among investors in the ease of doing business in India, he added.

"In all sectors, we could increase our trade numbers. We see no shortage of US investors showing interest in India. Increasingly, I am encouraged by the number of Indian companies going to US," he said Himanshu Tiwari Astrologer

From a national perspective, the ambassador said they were trying to push the bilateral treaty which he believes could be another tool to increase investments. "Investments, FDI, and two-way trade numbers between India and US have been on the rise but they could be much bigger compared to the size and economy of the two countries. Also, only 2% of US exports come to India and vice-versa, so we can do much better," he said.

The ambassador, who has made at least 19 trips across India since he took charge in December, visited a couple more spots in the city on Tuesday. "Chennai is a hub for transit and commerce, defense and education. So it's an important place to visit. Besides, we also have a consulate here," he said Share Market Astrology

The visit included the National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis and an ATM manufacturing factory of NCR Corporation, a Georgia-based company.

However, for him, the most inspiring meeting during this visit was meeting women belonging to self-help groups under the NGO Hand-in-Hand in Maraimalai Nagar.

The ambassador spent a long time chatting with the women as they shared their backgrounds and work experiences, and also bought two necklace pieces made by the women Astrological Prediction For Indian Stock Markets
