Ajay Mafatlal passes away in Mumbai Hospital

Ajay Mafatlal, who was earlier 'Aparna,' the sister of industrialist Atulya Mafatlal of Yogindra Mafatlal Group, passed away on Saturday morning.

It is learnt that Ajay was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital with an infection, under surgeon Dr K Balsara's care, around 10 days ago. Dr Geetika Koppikar, medical director of Breach Candy Hospital, told TOI that Ajay Mafatlal died around noon on Saturday. "He was in the intensive care unit and passed away at 12.20 in the afternoon," said Dr Koppikar Stock Market Trading Tips

The funeral was held at Banganga cremation grounds.

Ajay, 60, who was estranged from his younger brother Atulya, had undergone a sex change operation after which he became the eldest son in the family of five siblings. Of these, three are married daughters -- Kunti Shah, Gayatri Jhaveri and Malvika Taktawala. Prior to that, Atulya was the only son to have a claim on the late Yogindra Mafatlal's trust.

Ajay had in the past vehemently denied that his sex change had anything to do with the property dispute. He reportedly underwent the sex change operation for personal reasons. He opted for the name Ajay (which means winner) because, his friends say, he wanted to live life on his own terms as a man Himanshu Tiwari Astrologer Blog

Interior designer and socialite Nisha Jamwal said Ajay was a quiet, polite and shy person.

A bitter feud over a 10,000 sq ft family mansion at Altamount Road in Mumbai, between Atulya Mafatlal and his socialite wife Sheetal as one faction against the matriarch Madhuri (she passed away last year) and Ajay, started to simmer a decade ago following the death of the patriarch Yogindra Mafatlal. It has continued to take different twists and turns, involving, among other things, paintings and family jewels. The sprawling Altamount Road flat was partitioned so the warring brothers did not cross each other's paths. There have also been allegations of family atrocities and personal vendetta among members of the family Indian stock market astrology prediction

The family feud was further fuelled when Ajay was wholeheartedly endorsed by Madhuri as "the only son" she had along with three married daughters through a published notice. Ajay too had disowned Atulya as his brother.

Ajay was not involved in the day-to-day affairs of running the Yogindra Mafatlal Group which is into marketing and distribution of dyestuffs and intermediates, textile and non-textile auxiliaries. He dabbled in computers for a while before his firm Megabyte folded up Commodity Market Astrology Tips
