Govt has lined up string of reforms: Arun Jaitley

The government is trying to resolve some pending tax issues in the next few days, finance minister Arun Jaitley said on Thursday Stock Market Trading Tips

The FM did not elaborate on the pending cases. There is growing recognition within the government that pursuing pending tax disputes with energy firms Shell and Cairn is unlikely to yield much gains.The Vodafone case is another major pending dispute. 

"Our taxation system, our pending disputes. A number of them have been put to rest and we are trying over the next few days itself so that many of these can be put to sleep either by a judicial or by an executive resolution," Jaitley told the India Economic Convention. The government has recently accepted recommendations of a pa nel that minimum alternate tax (MAT) not be applicable on foreign institutional investors (FIIs), a move which has boosted sentiment in the financial markets.
