'On-road emissions higher than lab tests'

Some models of the Volkswagen group brands such as VW, Audi and Skoda have been found to be emitting nitrogen oxide in excess of five to nine times than what was arrived at in laboratory measurements, prompting the central government to issue a showcause notice to the German auto major Stock Market Trading Tips

The report, prepared by Automotive Research Association of India, found VW's Jetta, Audi's A4 and A6 sedans and Skoda's Octavia emitting higher levels of pollutants. This mirrors results VW cars showed in US where cars from the group were emitting even higher levels of toxic fumes -up to 40 times more than permitted levels. After the government slapped a notice on the Volkswagen Group for "significant variations" in emissions between on-road test results and those arrived in the lab under standard test conditions, the auto major issued a statement on Wednesday evening saying "Volkswagen Group India will continue to fully co-operate with the Government in this matter".Confirming that the group has received the government's notice, the statement said it will submit details of an internal investigation into its diesel engines by the end of this month.

The emissions scandal has thrown the German auto major in a crisis after it emerged in the US in September that it was using a "cheat software" to manipulate emission results from diesel engines to keep them at stipulated levels. Top group officials, including the company's Chief Executive Martin Winterkorn, have already resigned after admitting that nearly 11million vehicles could be affected worldwide. There is a possibility of fines running up to $18 billion in the US alone Himanshu Tiwari Astrologer Blog

"We have submitted our report to the ministry and our report indicates that when tested on road, the emissions in cer tain models of the Volkswagen group are significantly more" Rashmi Urdhwareshe, Director of ARAI, said.

The vehicles that have been found to be in violation are those that are strapped with the 2-litre diesel engine which is a derivative of the EA 189 engine series where the cheat code was being used globally . It is still not clear about on-road emissions result of diesel engine derivatives of the same family - the 1.6-litre and the 1.5-litre.

Urdhwareshe said ARAI "did not find significant deviations" in other engine models. The ARAI will continue to test samples of vehicles to find out more about emissions fudging in India by Volkswagen Indian stock market astrology prediction

Ambuj Sharma, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, said that through ARAI, it has directed Volkswagen India to come out with details on the number of vehicles affected, the reasons for the higher emissions, and the action it plans to undertake as a corrective measure. The explanation needs to be provided over the next 15-21 days."We have issued a notice to the Volkswagen Group to give technical inputs and explain their position," Sharma said.

Sources within the group said that work is on to identify the affected models, and the action could result in a large scale recall. Also, company officials are trying to ascertain the possible damage to the various brands from the measure Commodity Market Astrology Tips
