BSE Pharma index hits lifetime high

Shares of pharmaceutical companies are trading higher for the second straight day, with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) S&P BSE Healthcare index touching lifetime highs after drug majors Sun Pharma, Lupin and GlenmarkPharma received nod from the US drug regulator for new drugs Stock Market Trading Tips

At 12:52 PM, the S&P BSE Healthcare index was up 1.28% or 234 points at 18,602 compared to a 78-point or 0.28% decline in the S&P BSE Sensex. The pharma index hit a lifetime high of 18,843 in intra-day trades.

The S&P BSE Healthcare index has rallied by 3.9% in the past two trading sessions, against a marginal 0.06% rise in the benchmark Sensex.

Lupin, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Unichem Laboratories and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories are trading higher in the range of 1%-6% each on the BSE Financial Astrology Trading Tips

Lupin, the largest gainer in the pharma pack, is up 6% at Rs 1,906, on reports that the company received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for a key anti-cholesterol drug. As per reports, Lupin has got the nod from USFDA for fenofibrate tablets in dosages of 160 mg and 54 mg. Fenofibrate is mainly used to reduce cholesterol levels in patients at a risk of cardiovascular disease.

Sun Pharma is up 2% at Rs 949, extending its previous day’s 4% gains on the BSE, after the company announced that the USFDA has approved its supplemental new drug application for Ximino, extended-release capsules, strengthening its branded dermatology portfolio in the US market. Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has surged to a lifetime high of Rs 1,242 on the BSE. The stock has rallied 7% in the past two trading sessions after the company received final approval from the USFDA to sell oral contraceptives -- drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol tablets -- in the US market.

"Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Inc., USA has been granted final approval by the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets USP, 3 mg/0.02 mg," the company said in a BSE filing. The product is a generic version of Bayer's Yaz tablets.

Torrent Pharmaceuticals (Rs 1,675), Strides Arcolab (Rs 1,373), Aurobindo Pharma (Rs 832), Shasun Pharmaceuticals (Rs 416), Unichem Laboratories (Rs 283), Granules India (Rs 134), Lincoln Pharmaceuticals (Rs 169), Makers Laboratories (Rs 123) and Nectar Lifescience (Rs 49) have touched lifetime highs on the BSE in intra-day trades Indian Stock Market Astrology Prediction
